On Thursday, Market Street will present a Competitive Realities report on the region’s economic and demographic trends compared to other benchmark cities, the state and nation. Benchmark cities include: Denver, Nashville, Phoenix and Raleigh-Durham.

WHAT: Competitive Realities Report
WHEN: Thursday, June 14, 11:45 a.m.
WHERE: Four Seasons Hotel, Ballroom A, 98 San Jacinto Blvd.
RSVP: To Amanda Sablatura if you would like lunch

Market Street Services, an Atlanta-based community and economic development consulting firm, helped create the plans for Opportunity Austin and has been asked to draft a new strategy that will be implemented in 2009. Taking us past the “getting back in the game” message of Opportunity Austin, this new initiative will focus on building on the successes we now have by gaining a comprehensive understanding of the region’s past, present and future economic and demographic trends and business competitiveness.

Future reports will include a Target Business Review, an Economic Development Marketing Assessment, a “Taking it to the Next Level” Strategy and an Implementation Plan.

This new initiative is expected to be rolled out at the end of this year.
