| Chamber Hosts City Council
Candidate Forum
The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and the Real Estate Council of Austin will co-host a City Council Candidates Forum on Tuesday, April 18, at the Four Seasons Hotel, 98 San Jacinto Blvd. This sold out Candidate Forum is the largest event for this election with more than 500 attendees expected. The Mayor and City Council places 2, 5, and 6 are in contention. Candidates will be asked to respond to questions related to economic development, transportation, and quality of life issues. Candidates will also have the opportunity to ask their opponents questions as well. The Chamber has created a web site, www.keepaustinvoting.com, to educate members and citizens on the candidates, their positions, and the issues on the May ballot. The web site contains responses to the Chamber’s candidate survey, links to candidate web sites, and information on each of the Charter amendment propositions. The web site also contains links to information on voter registration and early election sites. City Council candidates appearing on the May 13 ballot: |
