Roundtable Discussion to Focus On Education Issues Before the Texas Legislature

How can the state create a more robust accountability system that raises standards and ensures that students are ready for college? How is the Legislature addressing the school finance system in the wake of a state district judge’s ruling that it was inadequate? What can lawmakers do to make Texas a national leader in attracting quality charter schools and promoting student and parent choice?

These topics and others will be discussed at the next Chamber-IBM Education Roundtable. Speakers will include State Representative Mark Strama, State Senator Jeff Wentworth and Dr. Darvin M. Winick, Chairman of the National Assessment Governing Board.
